Pioneering youth work in Malvern

This group was birthed as a pilot project for Limitless Pioneers. A small group of people from The Source Church in Malvern had noticed that there was only one young person in their local church – and there began the pioneering journey.

Limitless Pioneers, including a small team from Regents Theological College, embarked on connecting with local young people and seeing what they would like to see happen in the town. The group noticed that there were already things going on for the 11-14 year olds in the local area, so intentionally decided to begin with reaching out to the local 15-18 year olds. Through a series of focus groups in local schools, assemblies and building relationships with local young people, LIMITLESS Malvern was formed.

Since its formation, many young people have been through the doors on a LIMITLESS Malvern night on a Tuesday night, a separate 11-14’s group has been established and a part-time youth worker has now been employed by the church to take the youth ministry onto the next level… All of this now, when they started off with one young person just a few years ago.

Pioneering youth work in Stratford

Oasis Christian Centre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, started partnering with LIMITLESS in September 2017 to start establish a new youth work for young people of the town. There were a team of 3 volunteer youth workers ready to get involved, and the two young people that were currently in the church were brought on the journey of the pioneering work from the very off.

Equipment was purchased, decorating took place, plans were formed until we were ready to launch LIMITLESS Stratford in October 2017. In the first few weeks, one of the young people bought 2 of her friends along, so we were regularly seeing 3-4 young people each week. However, we hit a wall… By Christmas we were working in the local school every week with the hope of seeing more young people come to Limitless Stratford.

The new year came, no more young people… February came, Easter came. Still, no more young people… The team didn’t know what to do, but were faithful and continued to turn up week in, week out… Finally, in the last half term of the school year, more young people started to come along to Limitless Stratford.

3 young people became 5, 5 became 7, and then towards the end 7 became 10 young people… We were so pleased that we pushed through, and the group continues to go from strength to strength, now under the guidance and leadership of the local church.

Not only have we seen a youth group develop, mid-week and on Sundays but we have seen young people get a passion for Jesus and reaching their community. Pioneering youth work in Broadstairs

Elim Oasis Church in Broadstairs, Kent is another exciting venture, not only because we were partnering together to see a new youth work pioneered, but we were doing it with a few different churches in the town of varying denominations.

This work was established with non-churched young people of the town at the forefront of the agenda and has been a great success.

For us that meant working across denominational boundaries with the aim of building passionate followers of Jesus, that will evolve into an influential and evangelistic group of young people who make a difference.”
