Robinson ministry update - October 2023

Ali Robinson

Expanding our Reach

Greetings from a bright and fresh Lancaster! Tim and I are adjusting to the life of empty nesters. Dan seems to be settling in well at University in Newcastle. He has had a team-building field trip to the Lake District with the rest of the Chemical Engineering first years which sounded great. He's connected well in the Christian Union, explored a few churches and joined a board game club.

In my (Ali's) work, we have now officially launched the initiative to improve information about languages across the world that I have been working on for a while. With more accurate information available it enables better decision making. Please pray that it will be a blessing to the Bible Translation movement as a whole. Tim is continuing to work with departments within SIL's International Language Services team helping them get up and running with Rev79, SIL's tracking and reporting system. Incidentally, Rev79 is named after Revelation 7:9, a pretty awesome verse to use for the name of a system that seeks to help track our progress towards every nation, tribe, people and language having scripture.

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. (Revelation 7:9 NLT)

Tim is also exploring a part time assignment with one of SIL's area teams who are in need of some extra capacity in their Language Services team - more on that as it gets firmed up. In just over a week I (Ali) will be going to stay with my Mum and Dad for a few weeks. Dad is going to have a hip replacement operation and they will need a bit more help around the house while he heals. One advantage of working remotely is that I can continue working while I stay with them.

I am thankful that my new migraine prevention medication has been working well. I had two weeks with almost no migraines. It has been a bit worse again this week but still seems like an improvement overall. Thank you for praying! I have been quite fatigued since I started taking the new medication (which is a possible side effect) but Tim and I have both had a nasty cold which may also be contributing. Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. We couldn't do what we do without you! Praise Reduction in migraines for Ali Dan settling in well to Uni Prayer Wisdom as Tim explores an additional role A smooth recovery for Ali's Dad from his hip operation and a blessed time as Ali stays with them to help

God Bless,
Tim & Ali & Dan Robinson.
