Elim's newly appointed executive director featured on Songs of Praise

Elim's new executive director, Olivia Amartey, was featured on Songs of Praise this week as it celebrated 70 years of the National Health Service.

As a senior manager, Olivia reflected on the role her Christian faith has played during her 35-year career in the NHS. She also commented that the passion of senior managers equals that of others on the front line of the NHS. And as a Christian, there’s an extra dimension to doing her job well.

Olivia will step down from her role as deputy chief officer of Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group this month to take up her new position as executive director of Elim Pentecostal Church.

In a role similar to a company's chief operating officer (COO), Olivia will report to the National Leadership Team. She will be responsible for overseeing the Elim’s charity operations, administration, and strategic planning, strengthening Elim’s mission and ministry while ensuring the organisation’s compliance with the legal requirements and responsibilities of the charitable sector.

Olivia pioneered Crosspoint Church in 2015, an Elim church plant in Great Barr, North Birmingham, where she will also continue as Minister.

The full Songs of Praise programme is available on BBC iPlayer and also included Elim's Birmingham City Church featuring the song 'Where the Spirit of the Lord Is'.
