Dementia conference (1)

Dementia Awareness in the Church

An informative and value-packed half-day training course on Tuesday 18 March 2025

A 2024 report revealed that 982,000 people in the UK are living with some form of dementia and 10% of the UK population are caring for a loved one while balancing their other responsibilities. Many of our churches will have members either living with or supporting someone who is living with dementia.

This half-day training is designed to help pastors, leaders and safeguarding team members gain an awareness of the various types of dementia and how we in the church can better respond to and care for those who are affected.

You will gain knowledge and practical skills from the conference and be better equipped to help others.

By understanding how dementia affects the brain and body you can enhance your communication with those living with dementia, understand changes in behaviour, and learn how to create a dementia-friendly environment within the church.
