Elim Missions and Serious4God Summer Session 2014 Update
Last summer 36 young people went on an amazing journey to Hossegor, France and had an incredible adventure with missionaries Rich and Regi Ellerington.
Serious4God and Elim Missions has invited this group of young people to a week away to reach out into the community with the good news of Jesus Christ. During the week, there was a beach mission, sports, outreach events and teaching seminars on missional living, as well as the opportunity to get involved in surf school!
Over 10 years earlier, Rich and Regi Ellerington started doing mission work in Hossegor, returning nearly every year until they moved there permanently in 2012 and are now heading up the Surf Church plant team in Hossegor.
"Every morning we participated in devotions. This was time spent in small groups sharing testimonies and praying for others," reports Emily Forrest, Elim Missions Intern.
"It was a great time to get to know people on a deeper level and also to be able to pray for people’s specific needs."
"After devotions we had another opportunity to explore Hossegor, build friendships and chill out. After lunch there was a teaching session on ‘How To Share Your Faith’. These sessions guided what we were doing out in France and also gave us something to take back to the UK and apply to everyday life."
In smaller groups, the young people spent the rest of each afternoon in one of four activities. This included beach sports with those on a nearby beach, meeting people in the community of Hossegor, helping with work around the building where the church meets and a team who prayed for the groups of young people out in Hossegor.
