Tales from the Macedonian Mission Field - June/July 2022 Update
Scott Jackson
What a beautiful time of year this is. Those increased moments where we can meet up with friends and family outside, to enjoy the summer and the longer days and all that they bring. I'm reminded that the summer, physically, is one of the 'growing seasons' where the seeds planted in early spring are continuing to grow and mature until harvest time in the Autumn. How that translates spiritually in terms of the season between sowing and harvesting, and how even though those moments can feel like a long time, and even though we may not be involved in both elements, we get to partner with the Lord in that process and allow Him to give the increase.
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labour. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building." 1 Corinthians 3:6-9 NIV
During these last few months, there have been some exciting things happening....
Prayer....
Firstly, the Macedonia House of Prayer (MakHOP) has begun meeting again physically every week. One of the local evangelical churches is very kindly allowing us to use their building, bringing together believers from across multiple local churches. We have had some beautiful times of worship and prayer together as we have been praying for Macedonia, the Muslims in the nation, the issue of justice and poverty and others.
Alongside this, the schedule has been released for Balkan Call 2022, where believers, primarily from across the Balkans are invited to meet together in Istanbul in October to seek the Lord together, coming to a place of repentance and forgiveness, with the desire for reconciliation across the region. I am looking forward to, God-willing, attending this gathering.
Young Life Camps
With summer now upon us, it also means that it is camping season, when multiple churches and Christian youth organisations have their youth camps. I was very privileged to be invited to join the Young Life teams for their Albania and North Macedonia camps as the Prayer Coordinator. It was truly amazing to see over the course of both camps, roughly 140 youths engaging. They were having fun, taking part in activities, hearing testimonies and most importantly hearing the message of the Gospel and having the opportunity to process and ask questions. And serving them was roughly 100 team members from multiple countries. We truly believe that God has done some amazing things in the hearts of these young people, and look forward to seeing those seeds sown develop and grow, with opportunities for the kids to join in with their local Christian youth clubs.
The above photo is of Bledi, the camp speaker, giving the message of the Gospel to the kids at the Albania Camp. The below photos show the Albania camp on the left, and the Macedonia camp on the right.

Thanksgivings and Prayer Requests:
-
For the new season for the MakHOP being able to physically gather again. Please pray that the Lord will continue to grow and develop this, and that people from across the local churches will increasingly come together to seek the Lord's face and Kingdom for Macedonia.
-
For the upcoming Balkan Call. Please pray for God's grace upon the team organising that all remaining things to prepare would come together smoothly and against any distractions of the enemy.
-
For the Young Life camps in Albania and North Macedonia. For the many kids who engaged, hearing the message of the Gospel and were able to process it. Many for the first time. And for all the team members who joyfully sacrificed time and finance in order to serve. Please pray that the message of the Gospel would stir within the hearts of the kids, taking root and grow. Pray that they would have the desire and opportunity to connect with their local Christian clubs where they can continue to be invested in and over time, be able to invest in others as well.
Thank you so much for reading my latest newsletter. Your partnership, both in prayer and financially enables me to do what I do, and because of that, you are directly connected and involved in the mission that is taking place here. Christ bless you richly.
Please stay in touch. I love to hear how you are doing.
With much love and shalom,
Scott
