Join the national month of prayer

Following the month of prayer in January at the start of Elim's centenary, Elim churches across the movement are joining together in September 2015 for a focused month of prayer. Throughout the month, Elim churches will take time to corporately pray together, as well as encouraging individuals in focused daily prayer.

Introduction to the Week of Prayer in September

We feel a sense of urgency to pray for our Elim people who are regularly out and about in society making a difference wherever they live. If you take out the time spent sleeping, eating and doing our own thing, you will find that the largest percentage of time (for 18-67 year olds that is) is spent at work and out and about mixing with people in our villages, towns and cities.

God wants us to be effective and influential, making a difference in our world by bringing ‘Kingdom’ values to the way we live, do business and interact in society. There are stresses and pressures in all walks of life, but particularly for those working in Commerce, Education, Health, Industry, Retail, 3rd Sector and other important areas. They give of their time and energy, intellect, ideas, care and leadership. God in them can make a huge difference. The decisions made can be made more truthful, righteous, purposeful and caring by the transformation brought about by Jesus in them!

Making a difference

We want to encourage you to spend this September praying for our Elim family who are giving of their time, energy, talent and skill in our world. We want you to pray fervently that God will bless, protect and anoint them in the calling that God has placed upon their lives. Their ‘ministry’ is as valid as any other kind of church ministry. In fact, we need to see a ‘bottom up’ revival ‘At the Coalface’ to see a radical transformation here in our nation, now in the 21st century.

Will you please join us as we recognise and honour the countless hours spent serving leading and influencing. Come Holy Spirit, send the fire and release Your power on a society in need of redirecting. Thank You Lord!
