And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’

Reeve's Supporters Newsletter April 2023
Signing off!

Having been back in the UK for over three months we wanted to take this opportunity to send our final greetings to all our wonderful supporters and sign off! Although we are entering into a new season of our lives back in the UK, we continue to seek how God wants us to serve His Kingdom.

Since being back we have loved being able to spend time with family and friends again and our sending church family. It has been so nice to reconnect and also to meet new people through work and church.

We have been amazed at how God has provided for us and how things are starting to fall into place.

We had a really blessed time staying with friends on their farm when we returned to Stafford, it was so lovely to be able to spend time helping with the sheep lambing and feeding the lambs. There isn’t anything better to lift your spirits than seeing newborn lambs!

We were then so blessed with an offer of a place to ourselves to stay temporarily. We are so thankful to generous friends as it has given us time while we explore mortgage options to move into a more permanent home.

We are both doing well and readjusting to life back in the UK. One of the biggest changes has been how technology has moved on since being in the Philippines. From ordering your meal at your table in restaurants to paying with your phone and more recently how care homes all use electronic devices for recording (no more handwritten care plans)!

We both have work now, Andrea started at the beginning of April as a Mental Health Liaison worker with Newcastle Borough Council for their homeless and rough sleepers’ team. God’s timing is perfect as her first months’ pay coincided with our mission support coming to an end.

James is working for a local care agency supplying care homes in Stafford, back to basics! He hasn’t gone for a full-time job at the moment as he is considering doing a Return to Nursing Practice course in September at Wolverhampton Uni.

Since returning, we have had opportunities to share about the work in Coron and it has been lovely to keep in touch with friends there and all the city Gates Family who we miss very much. It is wonderful to hear how the work continues and how God continues to move in people’s lives there. There has even been growth as the team started another children’s club near the town and started another feeding outreach with the local children’s basketball training group.

Picture6We also had opportunity to go on a debrief with fellow Elim missionaries Roy and Lainey Hitchman in Hungary. This was so valuable to reflect on our time in missions, the transition, the challenges and blessings and look ahead to the future. We are so thankful to Elim Missions and to Roy and Lainey for their help and support during this process.

We would highly recommend a debrief with Roy and Lainey to anyone returning from time serving overseas! We also would recommend a trip to Hungary; we had a few days of rest and relaxation and were able to see how beautiful and how much history the country has.

We are excited for what is next for us personally and also how we will serve God back here in the UK and continue to trust God as we continue into this new season.

We thank you for all your support, encouragement, and prayers throughout our missions journey. we hope that you have been blessed as much as we have during this season.

We wish you all the very best and many blessings.

James and Andrea
