Deb Ann Hughes News - March 2023

Hello everyone.

I just wanted to bring you a quick update and news of Mum's treatment.

Mum's operation in January went really well. She had a lumpectomy and 3 lymph nodes removed.
On returning for the results a few weeks later, we were shocked to discover that one of the lymph nodes was also cancerous. The surgeon informed us that mum may need chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy. We were devastated.
However, the doctor did say that they would do a scoring on the original biopsy to see if chemotherapy would actually be beneficial.
We had a long 2 weeks wait and underwent a roller coaster of emotions!
When mum saw the oncologist, she gave us some wonderful news that mum didn't need chemotherapy and just needed radiotherapy.
Praise God.
Thank you to all of you who have been praying.

She starts her treatment on 8th March and will need 15 sessions, so will finish on the 28th March and I will then return back to the Middle East after this time.

Doctors

In mid December my doctor friend came to the Oasis from the city with another doctor and 2 other women. My friend is a gynaecologist and I invited her to come to speak with the ladies about contraception.
Around 30+ ladies attended the meeting.
My friend and her colleagues did 2 days of meetings where they also shared about Kingdom values such as how precious they are in God's eyes and how unique they are. Also family values and how to raise children.
The other 2 ladies spoke to the young girls, teaching about puberty, relationships and how precious they are in God's eyes.
The ladies loved my friends and have asked if they can come back again, which I will facilitate when I return to the Oasis.
This is a massive breakthrough. I have been asking my friend to come to speak with the ladies for years. I hope this is the beginning of many more visits from the doctors.

Ramadan 2023

This month sees the beginning of Ramadan, month of fasting in Islam. Millions of Muslims will fast from sunrise to sunset.

Please pray for them to have dreams and visions during this month and that they will come to know the One True Living God.

Feminine hygiene products

We are still helping many ladies with hygiene products. However the price of everything has tripled over these last few months and it is becoming more difficult to provide for these products.

Please would you pray for provision from Father so I can continue to help these ladies who are very grateful for providing them with these products.

Please ask Father for....

• Mum - That her radiotherapy will go well and there will be little or no side effects.
• Me - For strength to be here and look after Mum.
  To also prepare to leave again hopefully at the beginning of April.
• A medical outreach to the Oasis. For strategy and more doctors to catch hold of God's vision for the people here.
• Provision to continue to buy feminine hygiene products for the ladies.
