Praising Through The Storm

We all face storms in our lives. They can sometimes be incredibly hard for us because we tend to forget the one who is able to calm our storms.

Whether the storms we are facing are sickness, relationship difficulties, disappointments or persecution we all face them and we all need to know how to praise God in the middle of them.

Praising God helps us to take our focus off what’s going on around us and helps us to put our focus on him. he isn’t worried or afraid and is able to calm our storms!

In Matthew 8:23-27 we read Jesus was asleep in the boat. The disciples were panicking about their circumstances in the storm. They must have been trying everything to prevent the waves swamping their boat. At last, they realised they couldn’t do it on their own, so they went and work Jesus up.

He immediately understood everything that was happing and said: “you of little faith why are you so afraid?” He then rebuked the winds and waves so the storm was calmed.

When we are facing storms we should be like the disciples and realise that Jesus is in the boat with us. The disciples knew only Jesus could save them. Jesus is always with us, even in our storms. He can save and help us get through them. We should simply keep our focus on him by praising him in the middle of your storm.

It doesn’t matter how strong the storm is or how battered you feel by the waves, remember that Jesus is willing to calm the storms in your life. Just remember he’s already in your boat, trust in him and focus on your relationship with him more than the circumstances around you.
