The Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of more than 550 Christian congregations in the UK and Ireland, founded in 1915 by George Jeffreys.
We are united in purpose, working together to mobilise and reach every person, community, region and nation in this generation with the transformational gospel of Jesus Christ.
We share with other Christian denominations a core belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ and in the personal transformation that results from believing in and following Him. Our churches and members are committed not just to speaking about Him, but to demonstrating Christ’s love in practical action and service within their neighbourhoods and communities.
This report from October 2016 to September 2017 gives a flavour of the vast range of programmes, activities and ministries our churches and people are engaged in as they actively pursue our shared goal to see people impacted by the love of Christ. It contains stories of ordinary people working together in a common cause and making a difference.
We celebrate the thousands of volunteers in our churches who give their time, energy, skills and resources in order to serve others. The economic benefit to UK society of such engagement is enormous. In Wales alone, in 2008 the estimated value of the social action of the faith community was £104 million, 97% of this generated by Christian churches.
Elim people are embedded in all walks of life. They are people of all ages and from many different nations and cultures, united and connected in a dynamic relational network.
We take seriously the call of Christ that we don’t simply retreat to some ‘faith ghetto.’ We seek to live and serve as good neighbours, active citizens and partners in hope and wholesale community transformation.
